WYDOT resurfaces 13 miles from US 85 south of Newcastle
NEWCASTLE – Motorists traveling on the US 85 between Mule Creek Junction and Newcastle will encounter road construction on this stretch of motorway starting May 3.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation awarded the $ 6.4 million contract to Northern Improvement Co. Inc., of Fargo, North Dakota.
Northern Improvement and its sub-contractors will complete a sawmill and chip-sealed cover layer for approximately 13.47 US miles. The project is located between terminals 202.38 and 215.85.
In addition to the paving, the crews will install a culvert and resurface the Beaver Creek Bridge between milestones 202. 5 and 212.8. The work is expected to be completed by the end of July.
Motorists will experience lane closures no more than 20 minutes late, reduced speed limits, signaling operations and heavy truck traffic when traveling this stretch of US 85. Motorists are urged to obey posted speed limits and doing their part to keep WYDOT employees, contractors and the traveling public safe in this work area.
