Strong sales in Phoenix and Houston continue in February for Ritchie Bros.

Over US$114 million worth of equipment and trucks sold between Phoenix and Houston February Auctions

VANCOUVER, BC, February 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ – Last week Ritchie Bros.. continued its big auction season, selling over 7,400 items across two events – a US$59 million record Phoenix auction and a US$55 million Houston auction. All assets were sold 100% online.

At February 17 – 18 years old, Ritchie Bros.. held a two-day unqualified auction at Phoenix which broke site records for GTV and auction listings. Over 10,000 customers registered to bid on over 2,400 items of equipment sold. About 96% of the equipment was purchased by US buyers, while international buyers picked up the remaining 4%.

“This was an exciting auction with non-stop customers in our yard checking out equipment before the sale and a record number of online bidders during the sale, all driving record price levels” , said Ivan Molina Carrilloregional sales manager, Ritchie Bros.. “With the market continuing to experience inventory constraints and extended wait times for new products, Ritchie Bros.. is the only place where you can buy very late model unused equipment and have it delivered to you the same day. It was a big event for our sellers who got price realization, and for buyers who need assets right away.”

Specific highlights of the Phoenix the auction included over 345 assets, including over 90 late-model Simple 18 dump trucks, plus +45 late-model Peterbilt truck tractors, for Heritage Trucking, Inc.

At February 15 – 17, the company sold just under 5,000 pieces of sound equipment Houston auction site, attracting over 15,800 bidders from 62 countries. Approximately 90% of the auction items were sold to US buyers, with 46% purchased by Texas buyers and six percent of buyers in California. The remaining 10% were sold to international buyers as far away as Chile, Russiaand the UK.
