Sales manager wins award | Benoni city timetables

As the saying goes, “If you love what you do, you’ll never have to work a day in your life.”

This is the case of Martin Erwee, a resident of Rynfield, who was sales manager at East Rand Toyota in Boksburg for 31 years. This is where he started his career.

Top Sales Manager recently won Toyota Automark Sales Executive Knight of the Year for the 16th consecutive year.

He has been a Toyota Knight for 28 years and is also the most senior Knight. Additionally, Erwee is Toyota’s first Senior Commercial Manager in South Africa.

The Toyota Knights represent an elite group of salespeople who are valuable assets both to their dealers and to Toyota SA.

Not only do they contribute significantly to the viability, through profitability, of their dealerships, but they also promote the image of the seller and create levels of aspiration for other Toyota sellers.

The prestigious Knights Investiture Ceremony took place at the Radisson Blue Hotel in Cape Town on March 19, where the top honorees of the 2021 Knights program were announced.

Martin Erwee and Corne de Witt (main dealer of Toyota East Rand).

This is a remarkable feat for Erwee, as the entire Toyota network competes for the title of Knight of the Year. He is honored and proud of his achievement.

“Just being a Knight is a great achievement in itself and winning it is just amazing. Every year I work hard to defend my title and I’m as excited as the first time. It’s like putting a Springbok jersey on your head, the honor will always be there.

“I am passionate about my job. I believe you will never achieve success if you don’t enjoy your career.

“I don’t just sell motor vehicles, I sell a service. It is important to be well informed and to offer the best possible service. I also build good relationships with my clients, whom I call my guests. It is important to gain their trust. I also always try to improve myself.

“We had a lot of challenges over the past two years due to Covid-19 and we had to change the way we do business. Despite this, Toyota did well. In difficult situations, you don’t just go and lie down,” he said.

Ervee is also very involved in the community because he wants to make a difference.

“I want to take care of people who cannot take care of themselves, such as the elderly, children and animals. I assist organizations such as Benoni Salvation Army, New Beginnings, Delmas Animal Shelter and many more.

He thanked his “guests” for their support over the past 31 years.

“I couldn’t have done it without their support. I also want to thank my wife and children for their help.

Corne de Witt, main dealer for East Rand Toyota, congratulated Erwee on his achievement.

“What an absolute honor for East Rand Toyota to have Martin as Sales Manager for 31 years. It is a privilege for us to be able to work with someone of his caliber, commitment and loyalty to the dealership and the brand. Toyota.

“We are proud to say that he has set the benchmark, not only in providing service to our clients, but also in your social involvement in our community.”
