Prospera Financial Services, an independent Dallas-based broker-dealer, hosts its annual advisor conference

(Prospera) held its annual conference, CONNECT 2022, last month from October 19 to October 21, at the Marriott Dallas Uptown. The conference saw its highest level of attendance, with over 90 financial advisors, 60 Prospera staff, and 30 sponsors and speakers. Prospera, a private company, Texasfinancial company founded in 1982, is a full-service boutique brokerage that provides comprehensive support to successful finance professionals across the country.

Day one sessions focused on Prospera’s consulting technology platform, COREngine, as well as an overview of many of Prospera’s consulting models. The sessions ended with panel discussions, where product sponsors had the opportunity to speak in small groups of advisors about their offerings and services.

The next day began with an update on the company’s growth and success over the previous year from Tim Edwardsco-CEO and managing partner, and Tarah Williams, who was recently named President and COO of Prospera. Other speakers included Chris Jeppesen (financial author, Advisor’s Handbook, The blue square method), David Rutherford (former Navy SEAL and motivational speaker), and Dr. Kevin Elko (NCAA and NFL consultant, author and professional leadership motivator).

The breakout sessions offered participants the opportunity to learn and develop strategies in a myriad of areas such as marketing, workplace culture, portfolio management and municipal bonds. Advisors were also able to participate in roundtables with other advisors to learn best practices and share ideas to implement in their businesses.

It should be noted that on Thursday afternoon, all conference attendees were again able to participate in a philanthropic event to benefit “A Soldier’s Hands”, an organization that ships toiletries and handwritten notes to US troops. Conference attendees collected more than 300 care packages and collected more than $15,000 to support the organization.
