Epic Gameshow fans were surprised by the price of iron, suggesting ‘go to Argos’
Viewers of Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow were distracted on Saturday night’s episode after the correct price of an iron was revealed.
On ITV’s style show Price Is Right, attendees were tasked with guessing the price of a fancy steam iron.
The closest estimate was £ 207 – but the device actually costs £ 420.
Stunned fans took to social media to share their shock at the revelation, writing: “That’s a bit high for an iron, isn’t it? £ 420 Jesus Christ from where did they get this? “
Someone else said, “£ 420 for an iron ?! Go to Argos or Currys!”
A third social media user wrote: “£ 420 for an iron. I love the crumpled look thanks!”
Another incredulous fan typed: “£ 420 for an iron !!! Are you kidding me?”
“The £ 420 iron is no fucking way!” someone else posted.
Others were simply concerned with the size of the iron, leaving some wondering how it would be handled.
“Is it me or is this iron massive?” someone asked on Twitter.
Another wrote: “The steam iron looks more like a wallpaper stripper its f *** ing size!”
And later, the winner of the fancy steam iron angered viewers by admitting that his mother does all of her ironing.
He eventually left the show with the iron and a brand new couch for his mom – maybe that’ll be enough to make up for it!
Host Alan Carr also had viewers in a stitches as he recalled a disastrous encounter on a trampoline.
“One of my moobs suffered a concussion on a seven year old!” Alan chuckled as the contestants competed to guess the price of the backyard jumping equipment.
Contestant Ady was the only one to make it to the epic showcase, having scored 55 points for spinning the wheel.
Up for grabs in the final round was a Toyota Aygo, a Dominican Republic vacation, a camping set, and a tech set.
Ady was entitled to a £ 3,000 stamp as he made his guess – and decided to punt for £ 25,000.
And he came out victorious, the actual price being £ 27,465.
